I designed a dashboard that shows freelancers where every rupee and every dollar is.

What I did
I talked to freelancer friends and family, mapped the flows, went through three rounds of wireframes, then built the design system and every screen on top of it.

Tap to switch
Switch it. The whole dashboard follows.

I put it all in one dashboard, down to what every fee took.

The calls I made.

Each decision starts with the principle behind it. The orange tick is what I chose, and you can tap the other option to see what I left out.

Clarity over totals.

One converted total, or each currency on its own?

One converted total hides how many dollars are still waiting to become rupees you can spend. PKR and USD sit side by side at the live rate, and “Ready to withdraw” counts only cleared money and says when the next settlement lands.

Transparency first.

One net number, or every fee shown?

Freelancer friends kept asking where the missing money went. Every payment now shows what arrived and the fee taken from it, with a timeline of what happened.

One place to get paid.

Four separate tools, or one New payment button?

To a freelancer, a request, a link, an invoice and a QR code all mean the same thing. They want to get paid. One button in the header opens all four, so nobody hunts through the sidebar.

The system I built.

Every screen is made from these. Try the colours and the switch.

Three versions to get here.

I went through three rounds of wireframes before adding any colour. Drag through them.

The second wireframe
The third wireframe

One more thing…

Type any amount and see the 2% fee and the rupees that actually land. It works.

Convert to PKR

Rate includes all bank processing charges

Conversion Fee (2%)-$2.40

Net USD Amount$117.60

With more time…

  1. 01Test it with real freelancersMy research was informal. Next I'd watch five freelancers run a real week of invoices through it.
  2. 02Design the phone companionFreelancers check payments on their phone first. The dashboard needs a mobile side.

The SadaBiz file

My research notes and all three rounds of wireframes sit next to the final screens.
